TAMPA, Fla. – (April 18, 2013) – Trinity Cafe, (http://www.trinitycafe.org)a free restaurant for the homeless, hungry and working poor will open its doors to guests in its new location at 2801 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa Tuesday, April 30. The cafe serves a hot, three-course chef prepared meal weekdays at 11:30 A.M. “While grateful for the use of other organization's buildings we are abundantly thankful to fulfill our vision of owning our own kitchen and dining facility,” says Jeff Darrey a founding director of Trinity Cafe. “This larger space gives us the opportunity to increase our capacity to serve more people and develop collaborative partnerships with other organizations to provide food for those in need.” Cindy Davis, program director, says, “We have other goals as well. As we secure additional funding from community partners we will increase daily service by 20 percent and serve seven days a week. We have several new ways for donors to support Trinity Cafe; signing on as a Provision Partner, scheduling donations through our monthly Auto-Give program or making a lasting impact with an inscribed brick paver.” First and foremost, Trinity Cafe will continue to provide food, serve dignity and build hope among the needy in our community.
A building dedication and tour is planned Tuesday, May 14, 8:30-9:30 A.M. More than one third of the 4,700 sq. ft. facility is dining room space. The property and building have been funded through the generosity of many donations, small and large.
