Volunteers needed at the Humane Society of Pinellas

Make a difference in the life of an animal! Volunteers are needed daily to assist in the care and enrichment of shelter animals.

The Humane Society of Pinellas is in need of volunteers to assist in the canine behavior program, feline enrichment program and the adoption center. Volunteers are responsible for improving the lives of our shelter animals and are an integral part to our program. The love, care and enrichment that volunteers show our animals increase our adoption rates because our animals learn to associate people with feeling happy and so are more likely to greet a potential adopter rather than hide. Not only do our animals benefit from our volunteers but our volunteers benefit from our animals. In today's fast paced world it is easy to become absorbed in life's daily activities. However, it is proven that volunteering and getting out into the community has physical and mental health benefits. The feeling you achieve after volunteering at the Humane Society will keep you coming back!!

The Adult Volunteer Program requires a commitment of 3 hours once a week for at least 6 months. We work with your schedule to find a time that best fits your needs as well as ours. To become an adult volunteer you must first attend an information session. Then you will receive an application and be scheduled for an interview. If the program is a good fit then you will be called back for an orientation!!

The next volunteer information session will be Saturday June 2nd at 11AM. Please RSVP by emailing Lucy at or calling (727)797-7722x238
