Nov. 25, 2012 — Doral

The victim of a home invasion followed the robbers' vehicle to a flea market and called police.

Just before 3 p.m., officers approached Lebron Warren, 23, in his van in the market's parking lot. Police said that Warren reversed the van and accelerated toward the officers, striking a police cruiser. Officer Teddy Alvarado and Sgt. Gabriel Evens opened fire. Warren tried to drive away, his van hitting several other vehicles before it came to a stop. Warren died at the scene.

His passenger, Michael Nathaniel Parks, 21, was injured. He was charged with armed robbery, second-degree murder, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. Read more
