April 13, 2014 — Miami

Officer Elvis Martinez was flagged down by a person reporting a man with a knife at a nightclub.

According to authorities, two people were holding Christian Lopez-Recio, 23, when Martinez arrived. Two other people who had been stabbed were nearby. Lopez-Recio broke free and advanced toward Martinez. He refused to show his hands and Martinez fired, wounding Lopez-Recio in the stomach.
