April 11, 2010 — Cocoa

At 6 a.m., four deputies arrived at the residence of Larry Bowling.

Bowling, 64, was said to have been suicidal and injured himself with a knife or handgun before confronting the officers.

When the deputies approached, Bowling came outside the house and fired at them. Deputies Thomas Case, Jason West, Brian Regan and Michael Hriciso returned fire, killing him. Read more
