    A statue titled "Memoria In Aeterna" outside the old Hillsborough County courthouse honors Confederate soldiers and sailors. The statue was originally erected on the southwest corner of Franklin and Lafayette Streets in 1911 by the Tampa chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederate States of America and was moved to its current location in 1952 following completion of the courthouse.
