SPCA Pet Walk
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Tampa Bay held its largest annual fundraiser Saturday at North Shore Park in St. Petersburg. Some 2,500 pets and their people gathered to raise more than $210,000. SPCA officials are still counting the total donations and expect the total to be higher. In addition to the one-mile walk enjoyed by two and four-legged walkers alike, the event showcased a pet Howl-o-ween costume contest, the St. Petersburg Times adoptable pet parade, canine agility and fly ball demonstrations.
