As of Sept. 14, 2009 the Pasco School District has recorded that 1,088 children had received services through the district's Students In Transition program, which is up from 581 at the same time a year ago. Erika Remsberg, the district's homeless liason, said if the trend continues, the 66,200-student Pasco district could likely see more than double the 2,447 homeless children it helped last year. The trend has steadily risen over the past 3 years.
