Blind Tiger

|
Veterinarian Don Woodman, who's fostering the tiger cub along with his wife Susan, said that Princess Tiger Lily was born with a hereditary cataract that appeared as a milky sheen about a month ago and progressively and rapidly got cloudier, causing blindness in that eye. Veterinary opthamologist Dr. Michele Stengard successfully performed cataract surgery on the 14-week-old tiger cub, removing the defective lens through a small corneal incision and a surgical process called phacoemulsification at Florida Veterinary Specialists Wednesday morning.
