Epiphany, a Tarpon Springs tradition

Tarpon Springs epiphany

The tradition has been passed down for more than a century. The morning starts with church services, followed by a procession to Spring Bayou, where a young woman releases a white dove before a cross is thrown into the water. The young man who retrieves the cross receives a special blessing and, custom says, enjoys a year of prosperity.
