Going along, getting along. "I don't remember saying, 'I will' or 'I will not,'" Claire Headley says. "It was more like the apathetic path of least resistance. I know I never said, 'I want an abortion,' because I did not have the strength to say that." Home in Burbank, she holds 2-year-old Kaiden, with husband Marc behind.

"I was desperate to not have to go through with (an abortion) somehow, some way, but I did not have any means or options open to me financially or otherwise. If I did scream, they would take me back and I would be under full-time security watch."
