Bucs fall to Panthers

The Bucs' freefall continued Sunday as the Carolina Panthers handed them their sixth consecutive loss, 38-19 at Raymond James Stadium.
Tampa Bay (4-8) could not stop Carolina rookie quarterback Cam Newton, the 2011 top overall pick, who ran for three touchdowns and passed for another. Bucs backup quarterback Josh Johnson made his first start since 2009 for the injured Josh Freeman (shoulder) and passed for one touchdown and an interception. Tampa Bay's only other offense came from kicker Connor Barth, who racked up four first-half field goals.
