Today, the racing world and the area that adopted him says goodbye to IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg. Wheldon, a St. Petersburg resident, was killed Sunday during a huge 15-car wreck early in Sunday's event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Wheldon moved to St. Petersburg shortly after joining the IndyCar series in 2002. He won the inaugural Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in 2005 and went on to win not only the Indy 500 but the series championship that year.
