Tampa's proposed 2011-2012 budget
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who took office in April, is proposing a $357.9 million general fund budget, down $4.8 million from 2010-11. The proposed budget eliminates 21 vacant jobs but does not include any layoffs. It also includes pay raises for police, fire and other city employees. The property tax rate remains unchanged. Tampa's City Council must vote on the budget before Oct. 1.
