A viewer's guide to new TV shows this fall

It's that time of year again when we look at all of the new TV shows for fall 2011 and see which ones might be worth your time and which aren't. If you click on the links we've provided for each night's new slate of shows, you'll see that our TV critic, Eric Deggans, has thoughtfully provided a TiVo or Ti-NO guide for each new TV show.

You might have already heard the buzz about Simon Cowell's return with The X Factor. And two new series set in the 1960s, Pan Am and The Playboy Club, are riding the craze spawned by Mad Men. Our critic thinks the smart money will be on the new sci-fi series Terra Nova on Fox. Everyone's already gushing about Zooey Deschanel as The New Girl. And Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar is back in a new series on CW called Ringer (Hello! Its season premier already has gotten a repeat it's gotten so much buzz.)

There are, of course, many, many more new fall TV shows and plenty of returning ones. Follow Eric Deggans at his blog, The Feed, to see which ones make it and which ones don't.
