Mango Elementary School fifth-grade teacher Ethel Anderson, 29, of Riverview was arrested at her home Wednesday night and charged with having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy, deputies said. Anderson, who was named last year's Mango Elementary diversity teacher of the year, has been charged with three counts of lewd battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. She is being held without bail and will face a judge Friday morning during her first appearance hearing.

Mango Elementary School principal Felicia Davis sent a recorded telephone message
"Of course Mrs. Anderson is considered innocent until proven guilty," Davis said in the recording. "But I know that this is a great shock and a disappointment to all of us - teachers and parents - who work so hard to do what's best for students."
