Tampa Bay Rays vs. Texas Rangers

The Rays, coming off a rare off-day, will open a three-game series tonight with the AL-West leading Rangers. RHP Jeremy Hellickson will start for Tampa Bay, with LHP Derek Holland for Texas.

The Rays enter today's game trailing the Orioles and Yankees by two games for first place in the AL East, with their two rivals playing again tonight in Baltimore. RHP Chris Archer, recalled today from Triple-A Durham, is in the house. He will likely be used as a spot starter down the stretch, mostly to spell RHP Alex Cobb, who will probably have three starts left, manager Joe Maddon said. 3B Evan Longoria, who played the past two games at DH, could return to third tonight.
