Jury selection underway in Pasco trial of Brittany Miles

Jury selection is underway in the Pasco County trial of Brittany Miles, who is accused of seriously injuring a sheriff's deputy and killing a motorcyclist during a 2011 rampage across two counties.

Miles, 22, will face a separate trial in Hernando County for the death of motorcyclist Henry McCain, 67. Her trial this week in Pasco will be on charges of attempted murder, escape, fleeing a law enforcement officer, DUI, simple battery and leaving the scene of a crash.

On May 10, 2011, Pasco Deputy Ashley Grady pulled Miles over on U.S. 19 in Hudson on suspicion of driving under the influence. Miles told deputies she'd had seven drinks; a drug test later revealed she also had oxycodone and Xanax in her system.
