Country Breakfast

Popular Florida songwriter Amy Carol Webb wrote Country Breakfast with Tampa Bay Times columnist Jan Glidewell after an encounter with a straight-talking waiter at Tami's, a Dade City diner on U.S. 98. One of Webb's friends asked for real butter and was surprised a "country place" didn't have it.

The song quotes the server's reply: "You're absolutely right, this is a country place / And country people don't ask questions. They just eat what's on their plate." The song captured the spirit of a family restaurant where customers aren't coddled and people realize they should be grateful for their food, not picky about it.
