• Good to see Mike Zunino square some balls up because he has been struggling at the plate. Zunino, who at .140 was the only Rays starter Wednesday with an average under .250, logged his first multihit game of the season with three hits. He’s now at .191.

• Kevin Kiermaier said he likes his spot in the bottom third of the batting order, and he has performed well there. He had a multihit game Wednesday and extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Kiermaier has nine RBIs in his past 14 games.

• The Rays have been extremely patient with struggling reliever Wilmer Font. They brought him into a seven-run game in the seventh, but he allowed a solo homer to Rio Ruiz. He has allowed runs in each of his past four outings. The Rays needed to see a clean outing from him.
