Roster shuffling updated: As expected, the Rays activated Blake Snell to start today’s game. Austin Pruitt, who pitched 1.2 innings on Tuesday night, was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

Ji-Man Choi, who had been recovering from a minor calf injury and was on the restricted list on Tuesday, was activated before Tuesday’s game. Andrew Velazquez, who had been recalled on Sunday, was sent back to Durham.

Reliever Hunter Wood, who had used up all his time on the three-day paternity list for his child’s birth, was moved to the family medical emergency list.

"Everything is going good with Woody,'' Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "The one thing I’ll say is the baby is fine but it was premature so they’re monitoring. But I’ve talked to Woody countless times and things seem to be in the right direction.''
