ANAHEIM, Calif. — Jered Weaver allowed just two hits over seven innings to tie for the AL lead in wins with 17 and Torii Hunter homered as the Angels avoided a four-game sweep. Weaver struck out nine in his first start since skipping a turn because of biceps tendinitis. "There was no discomfort at all. I felt free and easy," he said. The A's were shut out for a majors-most 16th time this year.
