Qualifying

When: 2 p.m. today

At stake: One series point to the pole winner

Format: The field is divided into two groups, each getting a 10-minute session. The six-fastest cars from each group advance. Cars not advancing fill spots 13-22. In this session and the next, the 10 minutes include full-course yellow flags. In the second phase, the 12 remaining cars run a 10-minute session. Times do not carry over. The six-fastest cars advance to the Fast Six. The others fill spots 7-12. The final session also is 10 minutes with at least five guaranteed to be under a green flag. As in the second phase, all previous times are wiped out. Only times set in this session count to set spots 1-6.
