Sprint Cup preview: Atlanta

Scouting report: Atlanta

Jimmie Johnson is in boa constrictor mode on his third consecutive championship and Atlanta is yet another track where he has thrived: three wins (two in the past three races) and eight top-fives in 14 starts. Throw out two disappointing finishes and Carl Edwards has two wins, four top-fives and six top-10s in the other six starts. Jeff Gordon should also contend for his elusive first win this season. He's running out of time to keep from going winless for the first time since his rookie season in 1993.
