Slam puts Tampa in title game

CARY, N.C. — Former St. Petersburg Catholic standout Connor Obrochta hit a fourth-inning grand slam and starter Mike Adams (Nature Coast) pitched six scoreless innings as Tampa rolled Grand Valley State 10-1 Friday to advance to tonight's Division II baseball title game. Tampa (45-13) plays Minnesota State (42-8) at 7. With the bases loaded and two outs, Obrochta hit a high fly to left that kept carrying, his sixth homer of the season making it 5-0. UT is in its eighth championship game and is seeking its sixth national title.
