1. Is there a more diverse and solid broadcaster in the business these days than Fox's Kenny Albert? His football and hockey work are outstanding and his call of the electric and controversial ALDS Game 5 between the Blue Jays and Rangers last week was nothing short of superb.
2. All that money and Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman won only two more playoff games than the Rays did this year.
3. I don't expect Cubs fans to agree or even care about this point, but isn't baseball better when the Cubs are lovable losers? If the Cubs win the World Series, some of baseball's mystique will disappear and the Cubs will just be another team, no different than the Astros, Brewers or Marlins. Somehow, I'm guessing Cubs diehards will be okay with that.
