Quote of the day

"I think we play well against good teams, so I'm really looking forward to it. The big concept is playing better at home overall; if we do that, we'll put ourselves in good position."

Manager Joe Maddon on the upcoming 11-game homestand against three playoff contenders, the Tigers, Yankees and Twins.

Idea of the day

With the 18-game losing streak in Cleveland over, manager Joe Maddon was asked if he kept the scorecard from Saturday's win as a memento. "That's a great idea," he said. "Or put that in the Cleveland Hall of Fame up here."

Number of the day

10-1 Rays record when C John Jaso gets two or more hits in a game.
