This commemorative poster will be distributed to fans at the final spring training game at Al Lang Field today.

What: Final spring game at Al Lang Field, Rays vs. Reds, ending a tradition that started in 1914. When: 1:05 p.m. TV: FSN, with historic spring training footage and other extras. Radio: 1250-AM Tickets: Sold out, except for scattered single and limited berm seating. Box office opens 10 a.m. Special activities: Pregame Air Force flyover, presentation of the all-time Al Lang team, tributes to past home teams and singing hot dog vendor Tommy Walton, music from past eras, a free commemorative poster. Postgame, a free barbecue on the field for all fans, live music and kids can run the bases and play catch. Special guests: Hall of Famer Monte Irvin (signing autographs from 11-12:15); Al Lang's closest living relatives, great-nephews John and Hugh Fagen. Quote: "The baseball history emanating from this site rivals that of any major-league stadium and none of it would have been possible without Al Lang, who was unsurpassed as an ambassador of baseball in this state,'' Rays president Matt Silverman said. "His actions spurred St. Petersburg's economy nearly a century ago and helped shape a city. While we are playing our last game at Al Lang Field, the Rays' organization will see to it that his legacy lives on in St. Petersburg.'' Marc Topkin, Times staff writer

A sad parting gift from a team that was supposed to bring new life to baseball here. As a kid who went to games there with his dad I'm angry with the Rays owners. I'd rather lease the field to USF for $1.00 a year than let the Rays profit f
