Kaz on track: Ace LHP Scott Kazmir pitched six scoreless innings in his last start, his second since coming off the DL, but will still try to work out some kinks in his mechanics. Kazmir is 2-3 with a 3.00 ERA in nine career appearances against the Yankees.
Stepping in: With LHP Kei Igawa moved to the bullpen, prospect Ian Kennedy was recalled and will try to regain his form. Kennedy was demoted after early struggles (0-2, 8.37) but showed improvement at Triple A (no runs in eight innings).
