Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier's return from the hip injury that sidelined him since June 8 could have gone better Thursday in Port Charlotte. He broke two bats and went hitless in two at bats while playing for the Class A Charlotte Stone Crabs.

Below, watch Kiermaier in action for the first time since suffering that hip fracture on a slide at first base and hear him talk about what it felt like to be back. He is on the 60-day disabled list and isn't eligible to return to the Rays lineup until Aug. 9.
