Marc Topkin's takeaways from Sunday's Rays-Twins game

The Rays won because they got two innings of good relief from each of the two pitchers who contributed to them losing Saturday's game, Danny Farquhar (who again struck out Miguel Sano) and Tommy Hunter, who both posted zeroes.

3B Evan Longoria has been more cold than hot this season, but he is still the Rays' best player for a reason, and he came through when they needed him most, with an RBI double as they rallied to tie in the ninth then with the home run to lead off the 15th.

Based on Sunday, Ryan Garton doesn't look like he'll transfer the remarkable success he had at Triple A to the majors. He looked more like he had earlier for the Rays, giving up a big hit, the tying homer in the seventh to Joe Mauer, and walks to the Nos. 7 and 9 hitters in the eighth.
