Save the date

Tuesday was the anniversary of the first — and, thus far, only — no-hitter in Rays history, as RHP Matt Garza blanked the Tigers on July 26, 2010. Garza retired the last 22 batters after a second-inning walk. Opposing starter Max Scherzer took a no-hitter into the sixth, but then Matt Joyce hit a grand slam for the Rays, who won 5-0. Garza's no-hitter was the second at the Trop that season, as former Rays RHP Edwin Jackson threw one for Arizona on June 25, 2010.
