Interesting move of the day

Rays LF David DeJesus wasn't sure exactly what happened in leading to the game's most entertaining moment, his belt breaking and flapping loose after he made a diving catch in the sixth. Too tight? Probably not; he is a bit of a fitness freak. So, extraordinary effort? "Yeah, let's go with that," he said. "Let's go with I played really hard and broke it. That sounds good."

Number of the day

42 Worn by all Rays and Orioles uniformed personnel Wednesday in a rain-delayed tribute to Jackie Robinson. "It's a special day, a special man, a pioneer for the game and the country," said Rays 1B James Loney, who played previously for Robinson's team, the Dodgers. "It was special wearing it there, the Dodger blue."

Stats of the day

3 Times Rays have been shut out this year, matching the '01 team for most through 15 games

8 Rays wins in nine previous meetings between David Price and Yankees LHP CC Sabathia; Price is 6-1, 2.41 ERA.
