Cliff Floyd's slide in the seventh. On a bases-loaded grounder by Shawn Riggans, Floyd was forced out at home. But when Pirates catcher Ronny Paulino tried for the double play at first, Floyd's slide spun Paulino around, forcing the throw into rightfield and allowing two more runs to score. Floyd, 35, said he learned the slide "a couple years ago." Manager Joe Maddon raved about it.
"I loved Floyd's slide," he said. "A great play in baseball — you don't see it often enough."
