Friendly wager

The College World Series between Vanderbilt and Virginia that started Monday night has two very interested parties in the Rays' clubhouse. OF Brandon Guyer played for three seasons at Virginia, and LHP David Price starred at Vanderbilt. Guyer said the two have a "good little bet" about the outcome but politely declined to share the details.

Knuckleball practice

Manager Joe Maddon was so impressed with Durant High knuckleballer Chelsea Baker's pregame throws in batting practice that he said he thinks she's good enough to continue her baseball career after high school. "She was outstanding," Maddon said.
