The reviews were good of the rookie dress-up trip, which featured a collection of Halloween costumes. Highlights included LHP Jeff Beliveau as a nurse and RHP Jake Odorizzi as a Playboy bunny, but the featured attractions were RHP Chris Archer as the rainbow-striped Kandi Kid and Wil Myers as a big baby with diaper and bonnet. "It's one of those things you just have to embrace and do it," Myers said. "It wasn't that bad. … It wasn't like they put me in a Speedo or anything."
Quite the keepsake
As the Rays were slapping hands after Thursday's win over the Yankees, LHP David Price, at the suggestion of OF Matt Joyce, helped himself to a special souvenir: a handful of dirt from the mound where Yankees closer Mariano Rivera had just made his last Yankee Stadium appearance. Price plans to have it framed. "I thought that was pretty special," he said. Moments later, Rivera headed to the mound to get some dirt of his own.
Number of the day
