Quote of the day

"I think it's making us age a lot quicker — there's a lot of gray hair on this team."

OF Sam Fuld on the combination of stressful games and extensive travel.

Travelin' man

RHP Alex Cobb said one way to gauge how long the Rays have been gone since leaving the Trop for New York on Sept. 23 is his wardrobe, admitting he is "on the third repeat cycle of clothing right now," he said. Another was waking up Thursday and not initially remembering what city he was in. "It took a second to register what happened last night," he said. "There was a Budweiser can on my nightstand that said Indians on it — after the postgame celebration I took it — and it started sinking in and I had a smile on my face and waking up in Boston was a great feeling."

Trop tickets on sale today

Tickets for Monday's Game 3 of the ALDS and Tuesday's if-necessary Game 4 go on sale today at 1 p.m. via raysbaseball.com. Game times, which are set by MLB, have not been announced. (There could be four playoff games Monday.) If tickets remain Monday, they will be on sale at other outlets.

RF Steven Souza is always, shall we say, entertaining. In the second, he made an impressive running, leaping catch. In the seventh, he made either the worst dive for a ball a good 15 feet away or was trying for the best deke. In the eighth, he hit a massive homer.
