3B Evan Longoria (top) said the 20 Team Wil T-shirts he distributed in the clubhouse Thursday weren't prompted by rookie OF Wil Myers hitting two homers the night before. Actually it was a teasing response to Longoria noticing Myers usually wears generic-looking T-shirts. "He never has any Rays stuff on," Longoria said. "So I figured if I got him a shirt that had the Rays on the front and his name on the back that maybe he'd be more inclined to wear it. And it was actually just very fitting that they were finished the day after he had that huge game in Anaheim."
Visualization is a big part of rookie RHP Chris Archer's prestart preparation, and he planned to spend time Friday getting the look, feel, sounds, smells, etc. of Safeco Field before pitching there for the first time tonight. "Visualization is deeper than just seeing something or actually seeing yourself do something," he said. "You have to use all five senses, not just sight."
