vs. White Sox Tonight through Sunday

What's new: As if it couldn't get worse for the White Sox (34-48), who lost 18 of 26 in June to fall into last in the American League Central, one of their best players, 1B/DH Paul Konerko (back strain), and setup man RHP Jesse Crain (shoulder strain) went on the DL this week. 2B Gordon Beckham (hitting .322) is having a good year. 1B Adam Dunn has 23 home runs, including a walkoff Thursday. But the White Sox rank 29th in the majors in runs with 308.

Key stat: Dunn is hitting .333 with three doubles, 10 homers and 26 RBIs over his past 23 games.

Connections: INF Jeff Keppinger played for the Rays in 2012. LHP Chris Sale is from Lakeland. Rays bench coach Dave Martinez played for the White Sox.

Series history: The teams split four games in Chicago in April. The White Sox lead overall 69-51, including 34-27 at Tropicana Field.
