OF Matt Joyce was pumped over finally closing Tuesday on his new South Tampa house, having lived in a townhome the past several years. "Upgraded a little bit, got a little more space," Joyce said. "I'm really excited." Other than the benefits of living in his hometown near family, the new pad also has a yard for his dog Eli. "That was a big part of it," he said.
Quote of the day
"It's like, 'How are you hitting them?' Too often."

Myers as TV host
Rays OF Wil Myers is among a small group of MLB players who will produce an episode of a new MTV2 show Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave. The weekly show, which debuts in April, is designed to showcase a mix of baseball and entertainment. Boston's David Ortiz is executive producer of the series, and Myers is among several players who will be executive producers of individual episodes, along with Seattle's Robinson Cano, Baltimore's Adam Jones, Miami's Jose Fernandez and Atlanta's Craig Kimbrel.
One shot wonder
C Curt Casali was still talking about Monday's hole-in-one at Bobcat Trail in North Port, his 8-iron shot on the 143-yard 11th hole. Plus, he had witnesses, playing with OF Wil Myers, LHP Mike Montgomery and C Luke Maile. "We all freaked out," Casali said. "Definitely one of the highlights of my life."
