Roger Mooney's takeaways from Saturday's Rays-Indians game

Not saying 3B Evan Longoria gets the out at 1B on Edwin Encarnacion's grounder down the line in the first, but he has made that play before. He probably catches the fly ball to shallow left by the next batter, Jay Bruce, that fell for an RBI double. The Rays certainly miss his glove when he's not in the lineup.

Is it time for C Jesus Sucre to get more of the starts behind the plate? The Rays want to be patient with Wilson Ramos, who missed the first 76 games after major offseason knee surgery, but the offense needs a jolt, and Sucre has been productive at the plate.

The Rays can go two ways with the offense: be patient and hope they hit their way out of the team-wide slump, or shake things up. They picked patience, but maybe moving some players up and down the lineup might help. It's not foolproof, but it has been known to work.
