Spring anniversary games set for Al Lang Stadium

Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg will host a series of exhibition games next week in honor of the 100th anniversary of spring training in the area, beginning Sunday. The games will feature top young players from Team Canada versus minor-league players from several MLB franchises, as well as local college and high school teams.

Julia Ruth Stevens, the daughter of Babe Ruth, will attend Sunday's game and participate in pregame activities Monday.

All game tickets are $10 (general admission only) and are available in advance at the St. Petersburg Museum of History, online at or at the Al Lang box office. All eight games can be heard live on the Internet and mobile devices on

Sunday: Team Canada vs. Philadelphia Phillies, 2:05

Monday: Team Canada vs. Baltimore Orioles 1:05

Tuesday: Team Canada vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 1:05

Wednesday: Team Canada vs. Atlanta Braves, 1:05

Thursday: Team Canada vs. St. Petersburg College, 7:05

Friday: Team Canada vs. Faith Baptist High, 1:05

March 15: Team Canada vs. Detroit Tigers, 1:05

March 16: Team Canada vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 1:05
