Bay area draft prospects Donnie Albro, P, St. Pete College (Boca Ciega): Sophomore right-hander could be drafted in later rounds. Mike Blanke, C, St. Pete College: Former Melbourne Central Catholic star led state junior colleges in RBIs with 68. Billy Bullock, P, Florida (Riverview): Some have tabbed the 6-foot-6 Gators closer the best pure reliever available. Evan Chambers, OF, Hillsborough CC: 19th-round pick of Rockies in '07. Brandon Decker, OF, Valdosta State (Gulf): Ex-Buc had monstrous junior season at Valdosta. Ray Delphey, P, Alonso: Will likely head to USF given his knee injury. Sam Dyson, P, South Carolina (Jesuit): His fastball has pro scouts salivating, but he was up and down during season. Carmine Giardina, P, University of Tampa (Durant): Much-traveled pitcher is a former top prospect; had 54 strikeouts in 45 innings in '09. Mychal Givens, P/SS, Plant: Area's top prep prospect is a natural talent with a 97 mph fastball, loads of athleticism. Connor Hoehn, P, St. Pete College: University of Alabama transfer throws a 93 mph fastball. Jose Jimenez, 1B, University of Tampa: Led Spartans with .390 average; 52 career homers are second in school history. Danny Keefe, P, University of Tampa: Posted 70 strikeouts, second most on UT staff. Alex Koronis, P, University of Tampa: Miami transfer is a hard-throwing righty; 8-2 with a 3.48 ERA as a junior. Jamie Mallard, 1B, HCC (Middleton): After being drafted late by Angels last year, he hit .449 with 58 RBIs at HCC. Marlon Mitchell, C, Hillsborough: N.C. State recruit has long been a showcase darling. David Richardson, OF, Hillsborough: Athletic centerfielder has good bat speed and solid arm. John Rigg, OF, St. Pete College: Second-team all-conference selection projected to go in rounds 10-20. Jake Rogers, OF, Chipola College (Dunedin): Times' 2008 Pinellas player of year was taken in 29th round by Red Sox last year. Patrick Schuster, P, Mitchell: Left-handed national no-hit whiz could go in first five rounds. Robbie Shields, SS, Florida Southern (Pasco): Sleek Mocs fielder hit 18 home runs for Pasco in 2006. Michael Smith, C/1B, Brandon: St. Petersburg College recruit hit .474 with seven homers as a senior. Chad Taylor, SS/OF, Jefferson: USF recruit is a prototypical hitting shortstop prospect. Jack Wagoner, P, St. Pete College: Florida Gulf Coast recruit is projected to go in top 20 rounds. Ryan Weber, P, St. Pete College (CCC): Drafted in 12th round last year by the Phillies.
