UF men vs. Ga. Southern

When/where: 7, Stephen C. O'Connell Center, Gainesville

Radio: 1250-AM

Records: Florida 1-0, Georgia Southern 1-1.

Notable: The Gators begin the first of four games as part of the Legends Classic, which includes Troy (Friday), Michigan State (Nov. 27) and UMass or Rutgers on Nov. 28. Florida has won four straight over Georgia Southern dating to 1998. Gainesville native Willie Powers leads Georgia Southern with 14.5 points and five assists per game. Early indications are the Gators could have a much improved inside game based on their opening win against Stetson. Forward Alex Tyus and center Vernon Macklin combined for 25 points, 21 rebounds and four blocks. The two face a more formidable challenge tonight with three Georgia Southern starters 6 feet 7 or taller. In recruiting news, the Gators signed 6-foot-9 power forward Patric Young (Providence School of Jacksonville) and 6-5 small forward Casey Prather (Jackson, Tenn., North Side High) to national letters of intent.
