Basketball preview: Florida Gators vs. Jacksonville

NATIONAL INVITATION TOURNAMENT

Florida vs. Jacksonville

When/where: 8 tonight; Stephen C. O'Connell Center, Gainesville.

Radio: 620-AM.

Record: UF 23-10. Jacksonville 18-13.

Notable: A disappointing regular season has led to the Gators' second consecutive NIT appearance. Florida will face in-state foe JU, which it holds a 26-4 record against — including seven straight wins. The Gators are 16-1 at the O'Connell Center this season, but their biggest obstacle tonight may be overcoming the disappointment of missing out on the NCAA Tournament again. Florida enters the tournament having lost four of its last six games. "That's not the way you want to finish but this is where we are at," senior G Walter Hodge said. "We have to finish the right way. It was bad, sad. We didn't do the right things. We didn't control our destiny and this is where we are."
