Basketball: USF-Mississippi State preview

. TONIGHT

USF vs. Mississippi State

When/where: 8; Orleans Arena, Las Vegas

Radio: 98.7-FM, 1010-AM

Records: USF 8-2, Mississippi State 8-2

Notable: This is USF's third game in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic but first in the host city. It faces Santa Clara or UNLV on Monday in what will be its fourth game in seven days. … The Bulls have won four in a row by one possession for the first time since 1979 but can ill afford a sequel to Thursday's lethargic 73-70 home victory against FAMU. … The Bulldogs have defeated FAMU and Florida Gulf Coast — both of whom took USF to the wire earlier this week — by 13 points each. … MSU ranks eighth in the country with 9.9 steals per game, led by 6-foot-3 sophomore Craig Sword (15.5 ppg, 1.8 steals).
