Notable: The Gators, who are opening SEC play, have defeated Mississippi eight out of the past nine meetings — the past five by an average of 19 points. … The Rebels come in having won nine of their past 10 games. They rank third in the SEC in points per game (78.1). G Chris Warren is the SEC's second-leading scorer (18.5). … The Gators have held opponents to 59.4 ppg. Junior G Erving Walker is averaging 13.9 points and needs just 14 points to reach 1,000 for his career. Sophomore F Erik Murphy (foot sprain) will sit, but senior C Vernon Macklin (strained chest muscle) is expected to play.
