College basketball preview: FSU vs. No. 10 VCU

. Tonight

FSU vs. No. 10 VCU

When/where: 7:30; Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan

TV/radio: ESPNU; 1040-AM (radio coverage starts at 8 p.m., joined in progress)

Records: FSU 3-0, VCU 3-0

Notable: In their only other meeting, the Rams beat the Seminoles in overtime in the 2011 NCAA Tournament to advance to the Elite Eight. VCU senior F Terrance Shannon played five minutes in that game — for the Seminoles. He transferred before this season. … VCU, in the top 10 for the first time, may have its best team under coach Shaka Smart. It boasts two veteran stars in G Treveon Graham (16.3 ppg) and F Juvonte Reddic (11 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and more depth and versatility than last season. … FSU has topped 80 points in all three games after scoring 80 four times total last season. Its more uptempo approach will be tested by VCU's notorious "havoc" defense.
