College basketball preview: USF Bulls at No. 4 Pittsburgh Panthers

>>Tonight

USF at No. 4 Pitt

When/where: 7; Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh

Radio: 1250-AM

Records: USF 8-18, 2-11 Big East; Pittsburgh 23-2, 11-1

Notable: The Bulls face the Panthers twice in the next two weeks (Sun Dome, March 2), and even with Pitt top scorer G Ashton Gibbs (knee) iffy, it won't be easy. Pitt has the conference's top defense (62.2 ppg) to face USF's offense, last in the league at 62.5. … USF's top scorer is F Augustus Gilchrist (11.9 ppg), but in the past five games, he's averaging 7.4 points and shooting 25 percent from the field.
