College basketball preview: USF Bulls vs. No. 17 Pittsburgh

Today's major state men's games

USF vs. No. 17 Pittsburgh

When/where: 1; Sun Dome, Tampa

TV/radio: BHSN; 970-AM

Records: Pittsburgh 16-4, 6-2 Big East; USF 13-7, 3-5

Notable: A win would tie USF's Big East high — and just halfway through the conference season. … Pittsburgh has a new set of stars this season, with sophomore G Ashton Gibbs averaging 17.1 points and junior G Brad Wanamaker doing a little of everything. … USF has gotten huge play from junior G Dominique Jones, now tied for the Big East lead in conference games at 25.5 ppg. … One key to USF's strong play of late is a big dropoff in turnovers — eight against Seton Hall, 11 at Providence and seven in a loss to Cincinnati.
